Although this is not a vagrant bird, it is somewhat of an oddity. Not a true albino, which is totally white with pink legs, eyes and bill, this hummingbird is very close and is known as a leucistic.
In September of 2006 I was looking for dragonflies along the Susquehanna River at Lock 15 when it flew onto a branch about 25 feet from me. Being white and very visible, I suspect it will succumb to predators rather quickly. It is also noted that albino and leucistic species have very bad eyesight, another strike in favor of a predator.
