The Old Corner Post Office

Korumburra, Victoria.

The former Korumburra Post and Telegraph Office complex was built in 1904.It is highly important in both a local and regional sense as a notable piece of architecture that demonstrates
the impact of Australian Federation and the importance of Korumburra as a major country town at that time, it is a fine example of Federation Queen Anne design by a government department.
Whilst Korumburra still has a post office, it is no longer located in the grand premises built in 1904. Today, the former Korumburra Post and Telegraph Office has a new lease on life
as an antiques and collectables shop, with the owners residing in the old postmaster’s residence.

Very crisp photo of this fine old building. Beautiful details, even in the shadowed areas, and exceptional colors. Love the tiled roof and the gingerbread along the roofline. Vote.
