Some friends, Amanda and Cesar, visited us this afternoon with their kids Edison and Claudio. It was a perfect chance to use my favourite child-portrait lens, an old manual focus Nikon 35mm f/1.4, on someone other than my own kids.

Set at f/1.4 and near it's closest focus this lens can still be nice and sharp where it's in focus BUT with lovely bokeh (out of focus areas) everywhere else. Apart from general composition I just concentrate on getting the eyes sharp and the rest of the image does what it does best, goes creamy soft.
