This photo is looking north along Hollow Road at the north end of town. The Caretta Branch didn't go much farther beyond this point with the tracks ending in the distance. During it's heyday, Caretta boasted 200 homes, a 22-room boarding house, water treatment plant, sewage plant and power plant. The post office began operation here in 1905 and a new school was completed in 1925.
