Looking railroad east (compass north) from underneath the I-264 bridge where the Norfolk Southern Railway crossed the N&W mainline at grade. This crossing allowed passenger trains of the Virginian Railway (via trackage rights over NS) to access Terminal Station in downtown Norfolk. The N&W's westbound home signal for the diamond would have been mounted on one of the concrete bases seen on the left side of the tracks.
