Brittlebush

Borrego Springs, CA

I had a hard time identifying these guys. I'm fairly
certain they are Brittlebush, which turned out to be an
interesting shrub. Noted for the gum that comes out of
the stems, it was used by Catholic priests in the early
days as an incense, and by the Indians, heated & smeared
on the body, for pain relief... very interesting....
