Sunday we caught a bus to Fjaerland to visit the Norsk Bremuseum (Norwegian Glacier Museum), which had really nice, interesting exhibits.
My favorites were a film shown on five movie screens about Jostedalsbreen (Jostedal glacier; the largest glacier in Europe outside of Iceland) -- very cool shots of the scenery and a ski party that was crossing the glacier, some of the hands on exhibits such as applying enough pressure to make ice plastic, and the exhibit on Otzi.
Otzi is a 5000 year old iceman that was found in a glacier in the Alps on the Italy/Austria border in the early 90's. His corpse, along with some belongings, were well preserved and the exhibit detailed theories on his lifestyle and death (looked like some sort of foul play -- he had an arrowhead embedded in his shoulder).
