During the day before the valley is in the shadows, Rifugio Croda da Lago can easily be seen from the trail leading to Forcella Ambrizzola. It certainly resides in a beautiful location! I believe the prominent peak in the background is Croda Rossa, which we hiked by on Day 4 (Rifugio Fanes to Rifugio Biella).

After sunrise and breakfast we hiked back up to Forcella Ambrizzola. Norah hiked up there on her own, telling dolphin and barb wire stories made the hike go quickly for her.
