As we neared the Chalet we came to the junction with the spur trail to the Grinnell Glacier overlook. We decided to give it a go. Good thing the view was worth it because it was a haul up there (1000 feet elevation gain in 0.8 miles) and the winds were insane at the overlook. On the way up we also got a good look at a large herd of bighorn sheep, mountain goats, and a few mule deer bucks.
We saw exhibits at the visitor center that had scientists' predictions that with the current data and rate of global warming, the glaciers would disappear from the park by 2020. :(
