Highline Trail Cliffs

Finally, we're hiking the Highline Trail! We hiked along the Garden Wall from Logan Pass to Granite Park, then descended to The Loop on the Going to the Sun road to catch the shuttle bus back to our car. The hike was ~13.2 miles, including the additional 1.6 mile side trip to the Grinnell Glacier overlook. A big advantage of starting your hike at a pass is that you have minimal elevation gain and it's pretty easy going. The other advantage is that from the get go we had superb views.

The trail hugs the cliffs in many spots and in this picture you can see chains that were added for handholds. Below the trail is the Going to the Sun road.
