As mentioned in the blue morpho shot, Ecuador breeds butterflies for export. The eggs are collected after "Nature has taken its course." Based on where the eggs are laid (different varieties lay their eggs on different plants, usually on the underside of the leaves), they know which eggs belong to which type of butterfly.
