Parrot rescue.

Normally the philosophy amongst the guides is "let nature take its course," but sometimes when they have an opportunity to rescue something, they will take it. With a combination of a paddle and a stick, they lifted the parrot up, and set it on dry land. Hopefully its feathers had time to dry so it could fly.

"Let nature take its course" is relatively recent as an eco-approach. Even though the guides may not have believed in it, it was "part of the experience" for them to do things like catching caimans as part of the show for the tourists. Who says we don't make progress? Maybe not as much as we should, but we do get a little bit wiser in at least a few ways.

Nice story, Peter. Given the circumstances that contributed to this bird getting wet in the first place I think the rescue was appropriate.
