This is the frog that was used to create the famous poison darts (curare) of the Amazon blow guns. The toxin is secreted on their skin, and once gathered, was placed in the hollow tip of the dart. The blow gun itself was made from a piece of bamboo that was cut in half length-wise, cleaned out, and then glued and tied back together (the glue came from rubber trees). The guide could touch the frog because the poison cannot penetrate skin (but not a good idea to rub your eyes before washing your hands...).
