A distinctive chimney on the rooftop of Casa Milà, also known as La Pedrera, in Barcelona. This building was designed by the
architect Antoni Gaudí and was completed in 1912.
From the book, Visual Guide to the Complete Work of Antoni Gaudí : "The ingenious architect transforms a space that was
hardly taken into consideration when designing a building into a universe of forms and textures. Chimneys, ventilation
towers, and stairwells go beyond their function becoming sculptures of disturbing form, some of which can be made
out from street level thanks to their giant size and their glossy decoration of ceramic work."
