Dad: here's another shot from our day out yesterday. I'd like to say Pooch was contemplating the splendour of the Jervaulx Abbey ruins
in this shot, but of course you know him better than that. :-) He was watching a rather large and portly woodpigeon which decided
to risk alighting on the lawn... one brief chase later, and the woodpigeon had learned the error of his ways.
Please visit our Jervaulx gallery if you are interested in seeing more of the Abbey: http://www.pbase.com/poochdad/jervaulx_abbey
Still trying to get to grips with the new exposure metering system on the 60D. It is very different from the 40D and, frankly, rather
bizarre. Some of the shots in our Jervaulx gallery had under-exposure of two stops set, but the camera still blew the skies out. I am
having to check every shot on the LCD to make sure the exposure is OK, which is a bit of a pain after becoming so used to the
metering of the 5D, 5D II, 300D, 400D and 40D that I could more or less predict what the camera would do for any given lighting conditions. I
suppose I will get used to it, but I am still struggling to avoid blown highlights and that really is frustrating.
