28th December 2008

Dad: Pooch is very disgruntled at the concept of a BATH without a nice, long W.A.L.K.Y. first, but Uncle Geoff the v*t's orders.
Just time for a post-bath snooze before back to the v*t for a check-up.
We really hope Uncle G gives the go-ahead to resume walkies next week.
Oops, I said the W word...

UPDATE: Unfortunately Uncle G would not give the go-ahead for walkies to resume as Pooch's paw is
being slow to heal. He said we might need a 2 or 3 month course of antibiotics but I certainly
hope we don't have to keep Pooch to garden exercise only for as long as that... we'd ALL be barking
mad if we did, as walks are NO fun whatsoever unless our Pooch is there too.

UPDATE 30th dec: we're taking Pooch to see a dermatology specialist this evening. I think the vet's made it clear that this healing
is going to be a long drawn out process so we're not expecting anything cut-and-dried from this evening's consultation. However
we hope that the specialist will be able to provide further advice. We've also got a fourth 'dog boot' on order, this time from a
specialist internet retailer. Fingers crossed Pooch tolerates it better than the previous three.

Well, he´s not desperate enough for a walk then;O)
If he has that elisabethian collar on, he can´t chew off the boot and after a while outdoors might realise the good thing with boots, he gets walkies!
You can dream...

Stubborn terriers, they get an idea in their heads they stick to it...
Jackdad29-Dec-2008 16:22
Indeed, if anyone can recommend a boot that will a) remain on his paw for longer than thirty seconds and b) that he will actually walk in, instead of refusing to move and trying to rip it off... we would be delighted to hear from you. We've tried kids' socks, bags, layers of bandages, tape, elastoplast, micropore, three different dog boots including one sourced through our own vet... all useless... we've tried everything.

Poor, Pooch

What a crappy Christmas, confined to the backyard as best. Can´t he have a protective shoe on the sore paw so he at least can have short walks outside the yard?

You never know what the neighbourhood cats does, without Pooch watch-rounds.

It's going to be a long drawn out process by the sound of it :-(

Looks like Pooch is getting tired of being stuck at home. Maybe he should rethink those little booties.

Oh dear, sorry to hear that you're on W rations Pooch, but you'd better be a
good boy and follow your v*ts instructions and get better sooner!

You gotta get well soon or else Dad'll be restricting your food intake - can't put too much weight on - eh?
