We feel that this makes a perfect high performance motor for a
street-drive vehicle. It runs on pump gasoline and has superb torque
characteristics that allow it to perform equally well with manual or
automatic transmissions even those equipped with relatively tight torque
converters. This engine generated a massive 444.4 lbft of torque at the
lowest RPM our dynometer could pull from. A value it never fell below
all the way to its redline. This is far more than most modern performance
engines can generate at their peak!! Furthermore it generated greater
than 500 lbft of torque from 3300 RPM all the way to ~5500 RPM peaking
at ~576 lbft of torque at ~4250 RPM. Such a flat torque curve means an
instant powerful pull every time you mash the throttle to floor....
no waiting for wind up ... just hang on tight!
