2005-06-11: Gray Tree Frog Trilling

Sharon, Vermont

Hyla versicolor
'Round midnight we had a frog chorus in four parts.
The gray tree frogs were trilling in the lilacs and ferns,
the green frogs were glunking and the bull frogs were groaning
around the pond, and the spring peepers were peeping in the marsh.

Great timing! I saw my first gray tree frog a couple of years ago in Maine. At first I thought it was a bird or insect. I was very happy when I found it and was able to get some nice shots of it. This whole gallery is fantastic!
