While I was wondering through the swamp forest(see previous shot) when I nearly jumped out of my pants.A large female wild turkey flew up from the grass less than 20 ft from where I was standing. I can't remember the last time I was quite that startled. I walked over to where the turkey was and found these. This was the first time I have ever seen wild turkey eggs. From what I understand it's not very commonto walk up on a nesting bird. I quickly took two shots and moved on. Hopefully the female will return to the nest and hatch some new birdies.
