18-JUL-2008 White Rain Lily

Zephyranthes candida

Here is a wonderful, easy-to-grow semi-evergreen rain lily has round, narrow, dark
green foliage and makes a thick clump. Beginning in summer, 1" tall, pure white,
star-like flowers with dramatic golden stamens arise just above the foliage.
Z. candida makes a great specimen but, when used in a mass or fora border, it is
simply indescribable! Although quite durable, Z. candida perfers in moist, rich soils.
Hardy to zone 7.
