Dear Ed,

this kind of Riccia stones are coming from Tropica Aquarium Plants (Danemark). They use flat stones (looks like lava stones) and fixed the Riccia with a kind of net (like a fine hairnet). So the Riccia is growing under the hairnet up to the light. But you must cut the Riccia very often, because when it grow to high the plant remove from the hairnet.
When I make my own Riccia stones I use a fine fishing line and bandage the Riccia on the stone with this line. Very important by keeping healthy Riccia is a well-balanced light and fertilizing (Co², iron, ...).

I have a 90 gallon planted tank and have just bougrt some riccia how did you attach it to your rocks and I would like to have mine look like grass any helpful ideas your tank is really great thanks ed
