Dear Oliver, First of all this tank is absolutley amazing! I love it so much that I am looking to recrate a smaller replica of this in my 55 gallon tank, do you think this is possibly? I would certainly love to have this in my home! Your advice is greatly appreciated! Thankyou, Alexander

Hy Jordan, for the real placement I must paint a plan, but that’s to much work at the moment.You can see more details at the AGA 2004 entry. Only one thing: I place the Eusteralis in front of the Cuba Ludwigia, the looks a little bit similar. Best regards, Oliver

HEllo there. First off I am a huge admirer of your tanks. Particularly this one. Can you please do me one thing. I want to know the placement of your plants. I mean like where each is positioned. I have trouble distinguishing plants. Beautiful stuff. Inspired me to buy a new tank which I did.

Dear Arshad, Thank you very much for your praise. It was very nice to get a feedback from the Emirates. I prefer the Amazonia soil, the plants growing faster and stronger in this kind of AquaSoil, especially the stem plants and the small foreground plants like Glossostigma and Hemianthus. In my experience the soil keep their structure even after 2 years. Maybe you have about 10% from the soil who change into powder after 2years – not more I think. Dear Oliver, I came to this site about 6 months ago and I still do. Everytime I come I look at this tank and still can't believe how beautiful it looks. I am planning a 75G tank and want to use the ADA Amazonia or Malaya soil. Then order some of the plants you have used here. I wangt to keep Tetras. I know I won't come even close to what you have done here, but I will try my best. You are very inspiring. Which soil would you reccomend? I know Amazonia starts at 5.5 PH and Malaya 6.x. And they become powder in 2 years? Anyway, thanks, you are a true aquarist and I wish I could learn under you. Kindest regards, Arshad

Oooh Mann Oliver Deine Becken sind der Hammer allesamt komme aus dem staunen nicht mehr heraus. Ich betreibe ja nun schon seit einigen Jahren die Meerwasser Aquaristik extrem überteuert,unvernünftig aber auch irgendwie schön aber bei deinen Becken komme Ich ins grübeln mir doch noch mal wieder ein süßes einzurichten. Es juckt schon in den Fingern ;) Weiter so und natürlich noch meinen Glückwunsch zum 1. mit diesem Becken. Gruß Frank

Hi Oliver, congratulations for your first place at the Aquabotanic contest with this tank. There were a lot of great aquascapes this year and getting the 1st prize is quite an accomplishment. But this aquarium is worth it!

Oliver, very impressive Hemianthus callitrichoides foreground, can you share the water parameter in growing Hemianthus callitrichoides like yours? KH,GH,PH, Temperature? or any secret in fertiliser specifically for Hemianthus callitrichoides? Thanks

I don't know exactly but I think I used about 15 Pots. When you use this Hemianthus cut the stone-wool up to 0.5 - 1.0cm under the plant, than divide the plant with a scissor in 6-8 small part and planted this small parts in the ground.

Hy Kevin, when you want a bushy like in this tank, you must cut the to long stem in the middleground every week. You can use this stem in the tank again so you get a compact growing. For take care Riccia stones you must be tirelss, oh yes. The main work is the fishing of the leaves after the Riccia cuting. Best regards, Oliver Knott

Its a real fantastic setup! How did you manage to get the bushy effect in the stem plants? And the riccia balls... they look good. Wouldn't the maintenance be a hassle? Regards, Kevin Singapore

Thanks Alfa, in this tank I use the substrate from ADA (Aqua Design Amano) AquaSoil "Malaya", for daily fertilizing I use Dennerle A1, and for extra iron I using the iron fertilizer from HAGEN. Also the NPK fertilizer (Nitrat,Phospor,Potassium) from HAGEN. Greetings, Oliver Knott
