Almost Back to "Normal"

My neighborhood lost power for 19 hours yesterday due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy reaching my area overnight. The neighborhood had no trees or power lines down but somewhere along the power lines we got cut off the grid. This was taken around 7:30 PM on Tuesday night and our power came back about about 30 minutes later.
I woke up at 2 AM and noticed the lack of "red light" from my clock. Power went out at 12:55AM according to my old analog clocks in the kitchen. Got up and looked at my tree in the backyard - it's still standing and I could see no real issues around me. No big deal so I went back to bed and I woke up to the sounds of a generator humming later.
Fortunately it was rather warm although rainy on and off all day. Later in the morning my neighbor Steve knocked on my door and asked if I wanted to plug in my refrigerator in his generator. Didn't have to ask me twice.
All in all most of us here in Rochester were in no real danger from the storm other than some trees down and the lack of power as a result of that.

Nice to see that everything (or almost) is back to normal in your area.

Bless you Steve! I figured you might have lost your power but hoped not. Glad it wasn't to bad even though 19 hours is 18 hours and 59 minutes to long! Glad you and your area are OK!

Glad to hear you weathered the storm relatively well, Patti. And pretty nice of your neighbor, I must say!
