Three Doe

Actually there were four doe altogether and I got brave and started to "sneak" up to them. Boy they have great hearing. Every time I took a step, the dried leaves would crunch and they would look up and I would freeze and try holding my position until they went back to grazing and then I'd take another step and they'd look up, I'd freeze and this went on for about 20 minutes until I was behind a large tree trunk. Then I realized that if I knelt down and waddled over to the next group of trees I could get closer (I'd estimate I was about 75 yards away) because they were slightly downhill from me and couldn't see me getting closer. That was fun!

Well, hello there! They don't seem alarmed at all. Don't you just love the hunt???? Then, the shoot but not to kill. It is so energizing to be able to photograph them. You did a fantastic job! BAV!

Your patience was rewarded with a great shot. I think she spotted you but decided to not to run.
