When we arrived here, we watched one vehicle (which coincidentally looked very much like
the white one in the picture on this sign) come creeping and rocking down the last bit of this road.
Then we started hiking from the Elephant Canyon trailhead. A number of fellow hikers were going
in with large backpacks, equipped for a several-day backcountry hike. That would be an experience
to remember, in gorgeous country! We -- one of us on crutches and two of us in their early 80's --
planned to just hike in as far as we cared to and then turn back.
