Ring-necked Pheasant
First one I've seen...ever!
We were on our way to dinner taking the back road
and spotted two females and a male walking beside the corn field.
Good thing it was a rural road with no traffic as I stopped in the
middle of the road! I eased out of the car just in time to fire off three or four shots.
The colors of the females blended right into the corn field as they ran to
take cover. The male ran across the road in front of me and took flight in about a second flat.
