Continue to peel off the zoom grip. The encoder wiper will come off with the grip.
Leave it on the tape and be careful not to bend the fingers of the wiper.

The encoder wiper is fixed to the zoom ring by its own adhesive film and does not need to be removed! It will do to peel this seperate film of at one end and lift the wiper only for the futre removal of the zoom ring.

What happens if encoder wiper fingers are bent or broken? AF doesn't work? Thanks for your help! :)
