Macro Switch 2464.jpg

The plastic switch cover has two heat welded rivets that go through the sliding metal part.

My macro switch is broken,
the metal got separated from the plastic switch and fell into the housing.
Got it out with some pliers, when i get a new switch and new spring, can i just pop it in on the same spot i got it out or do i have to take everything apart to install the switch again?

thanks in advance
this site is a great help in investigating what was wrong with my lens
