I learn so much from everyone on Pbase, and decided to experiment with
lighting after seeing some of your work. This is a necklace that my
third son engraved for me in 1989. He is a gun engraver, and has studied
with Master Engravers in Germany. The only tools he uses are a hammer
and chisel. What amazes me is that he made this for
me fifteen years ago (when he had only been engraving for three years)
...and it has a sunset (or maybe sunrise) and butterflies.
Fifteen years ago I wasn't thinking of photography, and he hand engraved
this with my two favorite subjects.
I tried it outdoors in natural lighting and it was not good, so I will keep
experimenting. I did this with flashlights and maybe the overhead light...
I can't remember. I must start journaling when I'm learning. Anyway, I
appreciate any help you can give. Just remember I use a point and shoot...maybe someday....
