11/12/04

I picked John up this morning and we went to breakfast. This is a miracle in itself.
For two years after his stroke John could not eat without aspirating and getting very sick with
aspiration pneumonia. I fed him through a stomach tube. In April he decided he was
going to eat....he has had problems since, including a pneumonia at the present time,
but so far he has kept going and is enjoying food again. All I can say is he is one
courageous (and stubborn, I guess!)man. Never take a cup of coffee for granted....he really missed that.

Softened at bit with "Palette knife" in Photoshop.

Very moving. It's wonderful that he is doing so well, and it's great to document it.
