DSCN9694

I found this larva this morning on the Cassia alata (Candletree)
in the garden. I have looked through my butterfly books, but
have not found this one. It is similar to the larva of the
Checkered White, but I don't think that is it. Would appreciate
help if anyone can identify it. Thanks

I'm starting to feel some sense of responsibility to identify what I'm taking pictures of, so I appreciate yours. It always seems like other people know more than you do when you first start out trying to learn...the internet is wonderful, but can be as much a headache as help, sometimes. At any rate, I took several pictures of a very interesting caterpillar a week or so ago, looked it up, and realized "I probably should have squashed it." But how can you step on a bug once you've looked in its face? I took a picture of a groggy mosquito on Sunday, and we parted in peace.
