Instead of creating a classless society, the communists became the new ruling class. Instead of tearing down feudalism, the sons of politburo members became the new aristocrats. Instead of abolishing the "opium of the people", the communists established personality cults. Instead of "from each according to his ability", some talented ones were not allowed to contribute. Instead of "to each according to his need", everyone became needy due to the stifled economies.
