The 1890 Neo-Renaissance former Old Town Waterworks south of the Charles Bridge now houses the Smetana Museum
Bedřich Smetana (1824-1884) is considered the father of Czech nationalist music
By expressing nationalism in music, he circumvented the Austrian ban on nationalistic writings.
His most famous work is the 6-part tone poem Má vlast ("My Country")
His statue is on the lower right
