Hagia Irene (Church of the Holy Peace) was originally built in the 4th century. It was repaired and restored several times. After their conquest of Constantinople in 1453, the Ottoman turned it into an armoury of the Janissaries. In 1846, it became a military antiques museum.
It is located within the first courtyard of the Topkapı Palace.
