The Golden Horn estuary separates the old Constantinople from the newer European part of Istanbul (Beyoğlu). Throughout history, many bridges were built across this inlet. |
From top to bottom in this photo, they are the 2014 cable-stayed Golden Horn Metro Bridge with a station of the M2 line in the middle, the 1940 Atatürk Bridge, and the 1994 Galata Bridge. This is the 5th Galata Bridge in history, following the tradition of having restaurants under its ramp.
