Modern lobby of the Hearst Tower on 8th Av

The 6-story base of this building was commissioned by William Randolph Hearst and completed in 1928 as a foundation for a future skyscraper that was postponed indefinitely due to the Great Depression. The new tower, completed in 2006, was designed by British architect Norman Foster. This 46-floor tower houses the HQ of Hearst Corporation plus its magazine publishing and TV empire.
