This Roman column was moved here and topped with a bronze Madonna by Giuseppe Obici to become Column of the Immaculate Conception in 1857.
It is located in front of the Collegium Urbanum de Propaganda Fide in Piazza Mignanelliand, just south of the Spanish Steps.
It is dedicated to the dogma of the Immaculate Conception proclaimed by Pope Pius IX in 1854.
