The Gothic style Porta della Carta, main gate to Doge's Palace. It is on the west side of the palace, next to St. Mark's Basilica, facing the Piazzetta.
On the right at the corner column stands a statue of archangel Gabriel with the Annunciation lily. Beneath it is the Judgement of Solomon.
On the lower left is the Tetrarchs, a dark sculpture depicting Diocletian, Maximilian, Constantius, and Valerius. This 4th century relic from Egypt was looted from Byzantium in 1204.
