We were amazed by the famous 40 feet vertical drop of the veranda of the main hall of Kiyomizu Temple 清水寺 
,
while standing on a smaller veranda of the Oku-no-in Hall 奥の院. 
These wooden structures were built almost 400 years ago without any nails.
