We were impress by the dramatic ocean view of this dining hall at the Hotel New Akao.

The food selections for the breakfast buffet are mostly traditional Japanese. With French Second Empire deco straight out of Phantom of the Opera, it gives a 19th century type of east-meets-west, different than the modern east-west fusion we saw in the cosmopolitan Shinjuku.

On the previous evening, our tour group enjoyed Traditional Japanese Kaiseki 懐石料理 dinner is our own cozy tatami floor dining room.
