Pituophis catenifer

This one has been hanging around the west side of the property for a few weeks now. There are plenty of ground squirrels around
and we wouldn't object to the snake's help in "thinning the herd". This one is about 4 feet long and doesn't have the best temperment.
Well, to be fair, it probably isn't all that bad but certainly doesn't like being caught (or even photographed). Of course,
I've only tried to take pictures after the catch and release, so maybe I'm the primary cause of the bad temper.
