Letting Loose

Mojave County, AZ view map

During our trek over to Kanab, UT, we stopped to catch a nice thunderstorm cell pass through Colorado City, AZ.
I was hoping to catch some lightning from this but never managed to capture any, although there was a bit of lightning
activity produced beyond the field of view. I thought it was interesting that the rain shaft propagating through the base of the
thunder cell basically obliterated any detailed structure behind it. The leading part of the cell was violent and raw with detail.

This is a merge of 5 exposures for HDR and conversion to B&W in PS.
