"Super" Moon Rising

Tucson, AZ

The full Moon rising over the Rincon Mountains. More media hype than anything else,
tonight's "super" Moon is about 15% larger than normal. This is due to the Moon
having an elliptical orbit, with the Moon being a bit closer to Earth than normal.
The last time the Moon was this "close" to Earth was about 18 years ago.

There was a lot of haze in the area today, which accounted for the orange hue.
Here's a shot of the Moon setting the following morning:

Good One! About to step out and see what I can get around here -- moon rise just wouldn't have looked good at all -- too much haze in the air.

Excellent. The detail of the vegetation of the horizon is a very nice touch.
