Parhelion Close-up

Tucson, AZ

What the heck is a parhelion? It's a Sun Dog. This one was on the right side (south) of the Sun. More info on this optical effect at: http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/443546/parhelion

While this is a pretty sight, I wasn't all too happy with having to settle for a pretty cloud picture when I was trying to capture a slightly more interesting event:

Tripod, cable release, mirror lock-up full exif
