I remember this donut store from when I was just a little boy. It's fun to photograph some of the stuff I remember as a child. It's STILL there, and I don't think it's changed much since I was young. It's on the corner of La Cienega and Manchester Avenue. I like how in this picture I have the walk-up guy digging change out of his pocket, while the drive-up guy is leaning his head out the window to order his donuts. It adds a bit of personality to the shot. :)

I honestly didn't see this before taking my picture for the 28th! The subject and description of our pictures are remarkably similar, though I think yours is more interesting as an image.

Once again, I end up the copycat! :)

Paul! Your story just cracked me up! :) Especially when I saw the guys head sticking out the window! :) FUNNY scene of events that led to this excellent photo! :) I can't believe that place is still there, and the donut still stands! WOW! I remember this donut as well. I don't believe there was a drive through then?? Brings back memories of childhood. Did we ever stop and get donuts there? Or just drive past it? :) GREAT SHOT! The lighting is perfect, and you were right about the lights on the car, and the people in their places! Studpendous! :)

your story of how you spent 45 min circling is almost as interesting as the shot . .I had to go back & forth between the two & like how it put a certain"feel' to the whole picture/story =)

What a capture! Everything, light and people, at the right time. Compliments.

This shot wasn't actually an accident. I honestly drove around the block, stopping at the light in front of this shop and taking pictures out my window, then leaving when the light turned green. I did this for about 45 minutes. People were probably starting to wonder why I kept showing up over and over again at that the same light! I was TRYING to get someone leaning into the shop from the front, and driving through the drive-through on the side (I even wanted to make sure I got someone with their headlights on to add some more contrasts). With this one, I got one better with the guy sticking his head out of the car, and the other guy reaching in his pocket for change. I was happy how this one turned out (taken on my last pass by the shop, 45 minutes after I started going in circles for this photo!)
