In the background stands the Basilica della Santa Maria Salute. In the foreground is the Venetian version of a city bus. Called a vaporetto (translated "little steamer" in recognition of the fact that early examples of this service used steam-powered boats), this boat is operated on one of 19 "bus" lines between and among the islands surrounding Venice. The ACTV logo on the side stands for Aziendo Consorzio Transport Veneziano, or roughly translated "the Association for Venetian Transportation."
