Hi Chuck. I suppose there's more than one way to think about this shot. In taking the shot, I was most aware of the relationship between these people and the high space in which they exist. I can see that your suggestion would result in a different shot - also good, more focussed in an way, but of a different intent.

I like this photo. I would crop out half the sky, so our eyes focus on the people. TFS
