There was only one boot. And soon afterwards there were none.

(I saw the boot on the footpath, and stopped to get pictures of people looking at it. But once I was there with the camera, most people looked at me, and ignored the boot. Then a few minutes later (much too soon!) the cleaner came along, so at least I got one shot I liked!)
