I think this is intended as a low-tech approach to air filtration. She's using her glases to hold a piece of facial tissue paper onto the front of her face. And she has a spare in hand.
(However I could be mistaken: maybe there's some other reason.)

I saw her before she came to the corner (just out of shot on the left) and was ready.
