2006.06.27 Under a large spotlight

IFC Mall, Central

(Of course, this is a rather large spotlight ...)

Update after Michael Shpuntov's comment...
I would like to clarify that "No colours were harmed in postprocessing."
Most of IFC Mall is various colours of grey. This shot was taken using the sunlight white balance setting, which I preserved in the raw conversion. The large panels of tinted glass above and beside this area are a bit green, giving the whole space the colour cast that you see in the picture. I did consider rebalancing the shot to grey, but decided to leave it as it is, because I like the effect. In fact most of the PP was done in Lab Colour mode (as is my usual practice) to try to preserve the colours while messing with other parameters.

Here's another picture of the same place:

from a couple of weeks ago.

Very nice composition, I like the title too

The "selective colouring" is indeed an excellent effect. I can't help feeling the guy in the shot is suffering some kind of paralax.

Thanks Michael. But actually I haven't manipulated the colour at all; the designers of the IFC Mall seemed not to like colour very much. It's one of the reasons why I like shooting there.
